LED Colors
LED Colors:
Red
- Red is the traditional color for maintaining Night Vision. Also red LEDs make for great home lighting or automotive lighting for an almost ominious glow.
Green
- Green is now the preferred color for aviation and military use. The green color also retains stellar night vision, for night-time training and military exercises. Green doesn't eliminate red markings on maps unlike some other colors either. Also looks great in closets!
Blue
- Blue is a favorite for many because is very easy on the eyes, and studies have shown blue is a naturally calming color to the human mind. Great for reading, many people report that they are able to read under the warm glow of the blue LED light for hours without any eye-strain.
White
- White LEDs are the most popular of the LED colors. It produces a soft 'cool'
white light, without harsh reflection, glare or shadows. Some call white LED
strips 'futuristic looking' when mounted under cabinets, decks, etc.
Amber
- LED amber bulbs do not attract flying insects, as do ordinary
white bulbs. Amber LEDs are used outdoors in areas such as patios and decks
where insects flying around lights are a nuisance. Use Amber LED Strips around
your campsite to see at night without attracting any unwanted bugs!
Although some find LEDs are a bit more expensive than traditional lighting, the cost is recouped in very little time due to the energy savings and the elimination of the need to replace bulbs for 10+ years.
